Investment Strategy Design:A straightforward approach to get the right strategy

Keep the expertise but ditch the mystery that often shrouds the world of investing

You need to have a good grasp of what you want to achieve before setting an investment strategy. So your first step with us is getting you there.

It’s an important and sometimes overlooked step. If not considered, you’ve no way of measuring our success, or otherwise.

Though every situation is unique, we’ve created this graphic to show the common targets client’s want to achieve.

The next step is to ask yourself:

  • How much do we want the trust’s assets to grow over what period of time?
  • How much volatility can we live with in order to grow the assets?
  • How much cash does the trust need to pay out? (For example, to pay for pre-paid funerals and surplus withdrawal to the company)
  • And when do we think we’re going to need this cash?

Your answers may take some time to form, and they will most likely interlink with one another. However, they’re important as you’ll use them as your basis to work with us to design a bespoke investment strategy, that is unique to your exact requirements.

We don’t do ‘off-the-shelf’

And, because we don’t do ‘off-the-shelf’ strategies, you’ll be able to build exactly what you need for your funeral trust’s success.

For example, perhaps you know that you need to manage your trusts known cash payments out over the next five years. However, you equally need to focus on growing the trust’s remaining assets and all within risk parameters you’re comfortable with. You’ll have our support in creating an investment strategy where the cash payments due to be received as income on a portion of your assets, mirror known cash payments out your trust needs to make, giving you comfort that these cash payment obligations are covered.

In this way, managing the Trust’s cashflows, i.e. receipts into and payments out of the trust, draws together the four key headline points in our schematic above: growth, risk, liquidity/cash flow and time horizon.

Why we’re different

We’re experienced specialists in getting results for those with a smaller amount of assets, typically £5-500m, under management.

Our strategic partnerships give you access to institutional-quality solutions - for example, we work with leading institutional investment platforms and investment managers to give you the benefit of lower institutional fees.
